Last week we were given the opportunity to taste test and review a bottle of Kitchen Sink California Red wine. Best. Assignment. EVER!
Thanks to distributors Eurovintage International we were gifted with a bottle of Kitchen Sink California Red. This wine is readily available at LCBO for a very reasonable $13.95. The wine is described as “Medium purple colour; ripe raspberry and blueberry jelly aromas; off-dry with jammy berry fruit flavours and a hint of spice in the finish.”
Eager with anticipation, we opened up the bottle and let the wine breathe for approximately 30 minutes. The color was a gorgeous burgundy-purple with a berry-like aroma. I was cautious at first, as I am not a big red table wine drinker, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The Kitchen Sink California Red had a pleasant, easy-drinking quality to it. Off-dry, yet with a delicious sweetness, it was nicely balanced and would pair well with pasta, chicken or brie.
It was one of those wines that acted as a great vessel for a casual afternoon of conversation and lounging. Kitchen Sink California Red will most definitely be part of our next girlfriend get-together.
